EMO Complex Bacteria Microbial Pollution Treatment Process for Ethyl Vanillin Production

Before we talk about it, let's see what is Ethyl Vanillin. 


Ethyl vanillin

Ethyl vanillin FEMA 2464 also named as 3-Ethoxy-4-Hydroxybenzaldehyde is one of the important edible flavors and fragrances and the raw material in the food additive industry. It has the full-bodied and lasting fragrance of Vanilla Beans and is 3-4 times as fragrant as Vanillin. It is widely used in food, sweets, candy, ice cream, drinks, and cosmetics as fragrance fixative and additive. It is also used as a pharmaceutical intermediate, food additive, and in the electroplating industry.


And recently, a new microbial pollution control technology ——EMO compound bacteria microbial pollution control process has been successfully applied in the production of ethyl vanillin in China.


This technology can decompose different pollutants by using a variety of bacterial flora, which has the advantages of high efficiency, low input, and low operation cost, and achieves non-toxic and non-secondary pollution in the wastewater treatment process.


The production of vanillin in China mostly adopts the nitrous process route, which produces the toxic substance benzylamine in the production process and the sewage composition is complicated, resulting in the sewage treatment becoming a bottleneck difficult to crack for vanillin production. Compared with the traditional nitrous process, the new process of glyoxylic acid method not only eliminates the highly toxic N, N-dimethylaniline, and other chemical raw materials, but also significantly increases the product yield, greatly improves the operating environment, greatly reduces the "three wastes", the COD concentration of the generated sewage is only 4000mg/L, and overcomes the problem that the sewage from the old process cannot be treated biochemically. The problem of old process wastewater cannot be biochemically treated.

On the basis of this process, the new technology of EMO compound bacteria microorganism pollution treatment is adopted. They invest specific microbial flora for different types and quantities of organic pollutants in the sewage so that they form biological chains among each other and use various enzymes produced by microorganisms to decompose various organic pollutants into carbon dioxide, water, and small molecules that have no effect on the water body, so as to achieve the purpose of biochemical treatment of sewage.
